Does anyone have any knowledge regarding worldprofit.com?
Being a naturally curious person I am always keen to look at and test products, including methods of marketing and selling – I have a self imposed rule that I would never promote or try to sell anything I wouldn’t be prepared to buy myself so I expect others to act in the same way.
Needless to say, anything that sounds too good to be true normally is……….
I would also go so far as to say that I would rather not be in this business than be in the business of selling c***p to people with the associated fall out afterwards.
I recently came across an email Ad asking if I wanted 50,000 visitors to my website, I thought why not have a look, no one would turn down the chance to have 50,000 visitors, would they?
Anyway, I have copied the email promotion below, which indicates that for attending the Webcast you get 50,000 visitors pouring into your website! Great I thought, theres some big claims here, lets have a look!
Anyway, I attended the Webcast, and listened to Dr Lant – what I could glean from the Presentation was that he said his base was in a posh district where current and ex US presidents had studied law (I thought his office was based in Edmonton, which according to my geographical knowledge of North America is in Alberta, Canada, no where near Washington/New York districts – around 2000 miles away.
Also the office in the background of the Webcast didn’t look exactly plush, plenty of clutter, not normally what you would see in a professional marketing pitch, even the scammers do that bit well!
My videos aren’t too much to write home about but then again I am not in the business of claiming to run an empire that gets 5 million visitors to my site every day and anyone who listens to my presentation will get 50,000 visitors, enough said!
The basic model of the business seems to be that you pay $97 per month, for this you get a website, a load of sales material such as squeeze pages and some digital products you can sell with agents to close your sales?
What does he mean by ‘agents to close your sales’? I thought if you are selling products online in an automated way then why would you need people closing down your sales online unless you are trying to convince people to join to join Worldprofit?
So my presumption can only be that his more senior associates put pressure on you to join WorldProfit, making this is an online pyramid selling system.
The next part of the pitch was Dr Lant using hard sell techniques to close the sale with help from online agents, with patronsing questions such as, “whats the problem don’t you have any money” then to others on the Webcast “hey everybody Peter has no money” – Clearly this is an old fashioned pressure selling technique, give the pitch and remove the reasons for people not wanting to buy from you. I think I’ve seen this kind of behaviour with the awful time share sellers whilst on holiday.
My answer was simple, “I need to do some research and Due Dilligence” to which the reply was “You don’t need to do that, its been done already” and “Peter, what are you thinking? You are making a big mistake”
In the closing part they put the point across strongly how they are approved by the Edmonton Business Bureau – This is a Business Authority/Regulator in Alberta, whilst it may show that they are a real company it doesn’t tell me the criteria they are measured on and certainly doesn’t have a worldwide remit.
I’ve seen it before in business, its quite easy to tick all the boxes if you know the world of business and you know the criteria they base their assessment on, it doesn’t necessarily tell you how and whether the business is a viable proposition.
Anyway, my initial view is that this is an expensive hosting company that gives you a turn key website in which you can try to sell a load of digital products, most of which you can probably get free from giveaway sites and your sales for which you get help are based on recruiting more people to join Worldprofit.
I don’t want to criticize Worldprofit but I would like to hear if there is anyone out there who IS making money in an ethical way, not just by selling memberships.
On another note I entered this Blog’s address into their goody bag and in about 5 days have only received around 23 visitors according to my Google analytics account, a far cry from the promised 50,000 visitors!
Anyway, as it stands I for one would not touch this with a bargepole unless someone can convince me otherwise; the Internet Marketing world like many other business sectors does need to be cleaned up, if everyone followed the approach that you should be known, liked and trusted and prepared to give something up front and not just take your money the world would be a much better place.
Any unbiased views from REAL people on this site would be more than welcome.

Hi Peter
This post reminds me of a “sell” I saw a few months back for a video tutorial series of a seminar hosted by a self professed “Top Internet Marketer” for a system that was supposed to be bringing the host thousands of dollars per month.(cost of “course” over $1900)
The shots of the attendees, who were praising the seminar sycophantically, looked like they had been taken in someones living room, there was no sign of any of the conference equipment you would expect and the attendees (some of whom had stated that they had made megabucks from one of the hosts previous systems) could have passed for a local darts match audience.
Having worked in business management for many years and having a keen eye for detail it saddens me when I see such a blatant assault on people’s gullibility.
Thanks for the warning about this one. Your blog subtitle does justice to your business ethics.
Regards
Jeff
Online marketing is not merely for the latest product, producing a website or for letting customers purchase items online. Online marketing can likewise include how a business owner can engage a work team. The measure of people who are taking computers, web design, and learning to host websites proves just how booming online marketing can make the employer, the employees, and the independent contractors. And with a comfortable Internet savvy team, your business earnings can increase too.
i forgot to metion 2 more thing i forgot to type

2nd oh i forgot, i think this one was the killer one,
Oh yeah everytime i enter worldprofit, my browser FIREFOX using the WOT addon bans me from entering this website without warning my first it has a bad reputation like bad just check that link out and also join and comment on there also
http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/worldprofit.com#comment
THE MORE LITTLE PEOPLE SHARE THEIR BAD EXPERIENCE LIKE ME, THE HARDER THE BIG SCAMMERS FALL
since 2 years ago, i did join worldprofit but only stuck around only for one month, the 50,000 visitors are mostly, ip pc hits thru traffic exchanges, the 21 income are all manual traffic exchanges that don’t pay at all and one of those traffic exchanges is called trafficcentre or something like that, owned by worldprofit, only money you make is reselling this silver hosting plan. There have been many members bloging in forums that state worldprofit is great, give a very high commision say 100%, on these forum against scams and such.
I even left notes on youtube but it get removed by their worldprofit silver members, cause it gives them bad business.
There are more skeletons hiding in my closet to say how reliable their software was back then and probably worse off now.
On the other hand they have like over 150 links to their main website, that they rank silly under 19,000 on alexa ranking, this is due to source code skills and having it promoting on almost everything out there on the internet
You talk about World Profit being “professional” or lack of but take a good look at all your spelling errors and typos!
“so I expect others to acti n the same way”
acti n ???
That SHOULD be “act in”
“Also the office in the background of the Webcast didn’t look exactly plush, plenty of clutter, not normally what you would see in a prefiessional marketing pitch”
Prefiessional???
The correct spelling is PROFESSIONAL!
Sheesh!
Ann
Many thanks for the observation. i admit my spelling does need to be checked more diligently!
I tried their 30 day trial. It was great and nothing like what I am reading here. They teach you how to market using safelists/exchanges and actually sell clickbank products. The training system is based on what you would find in the warriors forum,or at least, that’s what their training guy George Kosch tells people.
The visitors are real and so are the founders.
Pyramid schemes don’t sell a product folks!! Worldprofit is simply a hosting company. For the 99.95 per month you get an amazing site, CM, and a live course worth thousands of dollars.
I am paying for another month. George taught us how to use some SEO techniques last week I didn’t know existed.
Thanks for the comment – let me know in a few months how things are going.
Hi peter,
I used to be in world profit but left after a month or so. Dr Lant
is a Dr. He taught I think it was at Harvard. Though I do not think its a scam I wouldn’t recommend for anyone. I know the former top earner there and he quit because they changed the comp plan where you only make 20% You would have to make a lot of 100 sales to make an income and it starts over the next month I think so the slate is wiped clean every month. So is it a scam? I dont think so but they do prey on the internet marketing novices who are new and who dont know much. I hope this helps

Thanks for your evaluation. Its basically a pyramid program which relies on you selling membership of the program you have just joined – so the business has no sound foundation or purpose other that to tie people in to selling memberships.
You are the first person who has had involvment in worldprofit to comment on this post.
Hi Peter,
Good post to expose fraudulent claims and doctors of lies.
They prey on trusting souls and people who are desperate to make money.
Instead of helping them to make money they rob them.
Using the Dr before the name is already a good indication of a scam.
How many real doctors who get into internet marketing would actually use the title?
I don’t know of a single one. That should be a red flag.
And as Jose says in his comment, getting 50 thousand of visitors a day is not credible at all, let alone a million.
It’s good that you were able to rank well in Google with the post.
Vance
Hi Vance
If I can stop one person from getting scammed then this blog post would be worth it. Its this type of thing that gives IM a bad name
Hello Peter,
The only experience I have had with Dr Lant is to discover (some time ago)that he was asking something in the order of $5000 to set up a website for me loaded with his products – and mine.
I have also come across some of his creepy people on the WP LIVE Business Center who pop up when I am surfing traffic exchanges and want to talk you into joining WP. They babble on for hours waiting for the little fish to take the bait!
In any case, I was not convinced he should have my money!
Cheers
Rob
Thanks that says it all for me………..
Hello, I have just found your blog browsing on Google as I am seeking some information on flutes. appears like a cool blog so I bookmarked you and will come back tomorrow to enjoy a more detailed read when i have more time. great site!.
Hi Gregory
No worries – not the type of comment i expected on an Internet Marketing Blog! If you need more information reagrding driving traffic or cannot find what you are looking for then give me a shout though the contact form in the Blog and I’ll get back to you.
Regards
Pete
Hi Peter,
Interesting discussion. I think they used to call these guys horse traders or snake oil salesmen.
Problem for the doctor is that you are too far advanced or knowledgeable now to fall for the sales hype.
I always remember an old sea captain once telling me “Believe nothing of what you hear and half of what you see, then you will be getting near the truth”
Sound advice for the internet?
Dave
Those are good words of wisdom – I will try to remember that. I know the Dr is talking sh*** but the best approach when something like this comes to ones attention is to blog about it and give them the chance to defecnd themselves.
As you say when someone is giving a sales pitch you must always try to imagine the business/process model that sits behind what they are saying.
Hi Peter,
That promise about the 50,000 visitors sounds unrealistic knowing how hard it is to get just a few visitors to a blog, right?
I’ll stay faithful to oil rig hopping.
Jose
Jose
I knew it was really, just thought I’d test it then blog about it so anyone who is interested knows its a load of sh***
Hi peter ,
I Don’t trust anyone who calls himself a doctor
I’m a banjo player and one night I was attending a gig one of mates put on in Liverpool and the flute players name was a Dr Moriaty , in the interval I asked him what he was a doctor of , he laughed out loud and said he wasn’t a Dr at all , my mate had put it on the program and it sold a load more tickets
But I know how you feel peter curiosity gets the better of us,
just been on David walkers webinar and it was great loads of free info
and even Matt Garret was on there and he came up with a cracker
“what ever project you have put off that puts you out of your comfort zone get to it and do it first thing tomorrow.
also Lee mcintyre come out with a cracker at his workshop “failings no problem” just make sure you fail fast and move on.
cheers
mick
Some good words of wisdom there Mick – I have been failing fast for years now, because I have done so much people keep saying that one day I’m going to crack something big time – I just hope its IM and I hope its soon!
Its funny I am getting some traffic from World Profit and this post is on Page 2 of Google but no one from World Profit have come forward to explain themselves!
Hi Peter,
First I’d heard of him, so I went to look him up and got to his website, where I see some guy just sitting there. Next thing you know, he’s talking to someone, and supposedly they have 146 guests on the site at the same time. Looked hokey to me.
Next thing I did was go to Gary Conn’s article on him, calling him a scam. Seems he sat through the whole thing, then waited for the pitch and got royally insulted. Lots of information here: http://www.garryconn.com/jeffrey-lant-is-a-scam-artist-beware.php
So, definitely a scam; warn people away.
Hi Peter,
Hmm, I agree with you that the background of Dr Lant’s (never heard of this guy before – allegedly “one of the world’s top marketers”) office is pretty WWII looking. Maybe he bought those filing cabinets at an Army or Navy Surplus store. LOL!
I see these sort of things all the time. They almost always amount to zero. Most are a front for an online Ponzi Scheme (ie disastrous illegal pyramid marketing set up).
I think the most important part of Dr Lant’s sales page is the last 5 words: “CLICK HERE TO BE REMOVED.”

PS: I recently wrote a post about HONESTY here: http://motivationselfesteem.com/talk/1505/internet-marketing-honesty.htm
Gary
Thanks – we need to use our Blogging power to bring these guys to everyone’s attention!
I would hate to see someone I know getting caught up in something like this.
Hi Peter,
We have a good, top-notch university here that has produced some remarkable people and new discoveries…like the “Edmonton Protocol” in the quest to cure diabetes.
However, to the best of my knowledge, no US president…past or present…has ever attended the university here. If they had I’m pretty sure it would be common knowledge as what institution wouldn’t let it be known that a president was an alumni?
Also, while the area that the university is located is certainly nice…it’s not what I’d consider posh.
As for the Better Business Bureau, any company can become a member of them if they pay the dues.
Cheers,
Rod
Thanks Rod
Accountability is important and I am more than happy to pull anyone to account that is less than sincere. It seems to me that the only people that make money out of this are the ones that manage to sell memberships……
Apparently another thing they do is put pop up boxes on other peoples sites!
The more I hear the worse it gets!
I did not have. Just looked at this post.
