Peter Davies In 25 Things You Should Or Maybe I Should Not Know About Me!
Well as a Student of Alex Jeffreys, Gary Simpson has come up with the idea of describing 25 things about ourselves – a sort of good idea unless your a naturally private person like myself.
I’ve been tagged by 2 different people in the last week, so have to write this post thank you to
Karen Katala and Mick Fallon. Anyway to add some information about myself, here goes:
1.I’m now a responsible family man with 3 young kids which are the best 3 things I have ever produced so now have to do responsible things – that may raise a few eyebrows for some people that know me from old
2.I am 38 years young but sometimes act like I’m 21 and am dreading turning 40
3.I think life should be lived to the full, I am dreading becoming an old age pensioner looking back wishing I had done something I want to do
4.I have a quiet ambition of doing some sort of expedition for charity, maybe kite surfing across the Irish Sea, doing a polar expedition, not quite sure yet but I want to do something extreme the next few years
5.Until my early to mid 20s was a total technophobe with computers and IT, now everyone thinks I’m an expert for some reason!
6.Despite being quite confident this is not the case in front of the camera – believe me video marketing is the one thing I dread, I never in a million years thought I would end up doing something like this, I have a squeeze page crying out for a video, so I must overcome this soon
7.I’m a keen kite surfer, windsurfer, white water kayaker – maybe a bit of a wanabee action man
8.I have come into Internet Marketing to try to make a decent living without working myself to the bone like I am currently doing
9.I have a tendency to try to do too much with the little time I have, too many business interests leaves me little time and still not much money!
10.I used to be called Darth Vader and a lot worse, no idea why
11.I an extremely loyal trusting type but expect the same back – can trun this to being like a viper in the grass
12.I get as much if not more satisfaction from being to help others as I do myself. Haven’t been able to demonstrate this with the other coaching students yet due to my own personal commitments.
13.Being an outdoor sportsman I am a keen environmentalist, I believe we are custodians of our environments and have a responsibility to look after it which we often don’t do very well
14.If I had a choice in what I wanted to do in life I would want to be an International Rugby Union player for Wales, something most kids in the land of song probably aspire to
15.My old rugby club used to tag me as the GUILTY one and no I am not going to reveal why!
16.I love VW vans and campers – you see it goes with the outdoor lifestyle, I have a newish one but I have an old blown up one which I have had for years and refuse to let go, its going to be totally rebuilt and restored to its former glory
17.I have a bad habit of drinking 2 cans of Fosters every night though I don’t smoke so it could be worse
18.I also have a tendency to help myself to Susans Red Wine which winds her up!
19.I eat too much bread and cheese and my kids copy me
20.I’m told if I have had alcohol I snore in bed at night though I disagree with this, I have never heard myself snoring!
21. Whatever I do I always try to be the best I can be – I hope this shines through with what I have done in IM with AJ so far
22.My mail tray in my office is a mess, though my desk itself is in good order, I hate opening mail!
23.I believe that you should always treat people the way you expect to be treated yourself
24.I have been told more than once re the above if people don’t act in the way I do to them I can quickly become a viper in the grass
25.My simple ambition in addition to the personal things I have described is to live a simple sustainable life with minimal bills , mortgage cleared and no hassle
I now tag Trevor Jones ; and Joe Fier ; and Paul Wilson;

Good list. I especially agree re point 14. It’s the same for us in New Zealand and the All Blacks.
It would be nice if we won something though
Hi – very good website you have established. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to issue a remark to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically pleasing. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a merchandising firm. I have always enjoyed working with computers and am attempting to learn computer code in my free time (which there is never enough of lol).
I know what you mean – its good to get an endorsement for the layout – I thought it looked ok until I saw other peoples blogs – i’ll stick with it for now I think!
Hi Peter, I just payed the $17. for affiliate secrets. And they say to send them my paypal reciept, Well hard to do when the email they said to use is not good. So I will not get the downloads details.. Can you do something about this Help.. Or I have to call paypal tomarrow, and tell them the situation.. Thanks..Jeanne
P.S. Davies is a family name of ares.. Are you related in any way to Sir Humpfry Davies..?
Nice list, would love to know what the ‘Guilty one’ refers to . . .
That ones staying secret I’m afraid……….
Hey Peter,
Nice list. Most of that resonates strongly with me.
I thought I’d come over and see what you are up to since you have been on my blog recently.
Back to that list…
#24 – I know EXACTLY what you mean. If somebody dishonours you then you become personally offended and feel like hitting back. You are probably like a mirror. When somebody shows you respect and kindness you go out of your way to return it. But… when somebody tries to shaft you then you can only put up with that for so long.
You fire a warning shot across their bow but they are too STUPID to stop. So, you fire another shot that puts a hole just above their water line but… yep, they keep going. Then…
… all HELL is about to be unleashed. The cover comes off the big red button and you insert the “armed and able to be detonated key.” They do just one more thing and SLAP. You hit it.
Silo doors open, missile is launched and seconds later… target destroyed.
“Anyone else wanna do that to me? Oh good. Let’s all be friends!”
Am I close to the truth there Peter?
I bet you are nodding your head and snickering to yourself.
Gary Simpson
TEMPLE
LOL – I must say that put a smile on my face 1st thing in the morning
– All I can say is your not too far off the mark there
Hey Peter,
Can totally relate to #9, #14, #17,(though I have about 3)and #20, girlfriend sometimes threatens to hold pillow over my face after battering me with it.
Always good to drop by and visit your site.
Will visit your blog again ASAP, thanks for visting my place.
Ciao for now
Hi Peter,
Thanks for visiting my blog. We are all so different but have all had such interesting lives so far……….
Good luck with the kite-surfing ambition
Best wishes,
Veronica
Hey Peter,
It’s great to learn more about you, I did one of these about 3 weeks ago. You can find it on my blog if you go down a couple posts.
Firstly well done for getting your first video done, I think it’s very good. And in my opinion You did a much better job than me. I come across like a bit of an idiot on video, hope that’s not how everyone else sees me? Although I do like to be a bit of a comedian sometimes
#2 I know what you mean, I’m 28 and act like I’m 18 sometimes.
#3 That used to be my philosophy on life, until I developed an anxiety disorder. That kind of threw a spanner in the works.
#8 Same here mate, and I’m sure we will manage it.
#23 I’ve always lived by that since I can remember, but I’ve found some people have taken advantage of my good nature and generosity in the past. That has made me toughen up a bit as far as lending money is concerned, probably for the best though I think. I still treat people as I’d like to be treated myself, I’ve just learnt some polite ways to say NO when asked to lend out money. And to stick to my guns no matter what.
Great list of 25 there, Peter.
Take care,
Paul.
Thanks for the comment – your not an idiot, you’ve had a go. This type of thing just takes rehearsal after rehearsal. Probably a good idea to keep the video up so you can look back in a year to remind yourself how far you have come. I have it in my plan as it happens to really work on my video presentation skills as I think this is a great tool to have in your back pocket.
Hey Peter,
Points 6 & 9 certainly resonate with me.
I too have a habit of trying to do too many things in the time I have. Don’t know why I can’t just settle on one thing till it works. Well, it look like I am now. I’ve even been ignoring sales letters!
As for the video marketing. Ouch. Not only is it nerve-wracking but its completely frustrating as well. I’ve made a video but can’t, for the life of me, cut it to the size I need. There’s always something getting in the way.
Anyway, cool list and speak soon.
Andy
Sorry – have to come back here after watching your welcome video… you are completely wrong about point #6. You may not be confident and aware of it, but I think you have a smashing (convincing) and very natural (trustworthy) screen presence. If you want to be more successful (not that I know that you do, but who doesn’t, right?), just do more of that FAST and get over your worries!
Cheers,
Thomas
Hey Pete:
ooh – I see large potential for getting some IM mileage out of your action-hero persona and desires!
Don’t be too concerned about doing something “responsible” because of the 3 little ones. Even if it’s a struggle at times, entrepreneurship seems a lot more responsible to me than a J.O.B – and doing “something extreme” can get you a lot of free publicity!
And let me throw this one out, too (I am 4 ahead of you at the moment
…there is such a thing as “something extreme” for families – although it may not be what you had in mind…! Check this for proof: http://familyadventureproject.blogspot.com/
Cheers,
Thomas
Thomas
Thanks for the comments – I’ve been flat out doing other things the last week and a half – I’ll get over to that one later
Nicely written. Number 23 is one of my mantra’s; I believe it wholeheartedly.
Hi Pete
Thanks for visiting my blog – had to come over and see your list. You’re worried about turning 40!!! Wait ’til you hit the big 60!! My philosophy is that age is just a number – live life to the full and forget what the birth certificate says – if you have a passion to do something – go ahead and do it, providing you don’t hurt anyone in the process. There is a lot to be said for the saying – ‘do as you would be done by’. Make the most of your kids while they are young, they grow up so quickly – you wonder where the time went. Good luck in your ventures and with the AJ course.
Take Care – Barbara
thanks for the feedback – you have a very good perspective on life!
Hi Peter,
I like your blog, nice clean theme.
I can relate to items 3 and 6 in your list above, but I’m much closer to hitting number 3 that I like. As for number 6..that’s to a tee.
Great post!
Best Regards,
Byron
Hi Peter,
I like your 25 points about you.
It makes me smile when I read that you are dreading being 40 in a couple of years. I remember dreading being 30 at one time. We all know it will happen.
Acting younger is good for the soul. If you act 21 it’s pretty good, you know.
Some much older people act like 6 year olds sometimes.
I do identify with you on some points very closely like #3, #9 sometimes, #11 is my natural tendency which I have to temper in order to protect myself – too many hard knocks.
#12 partially true for me too, #19 if I have bread within reach I tend to eat it so I try to have it out of site,
#21 is true of most of the time but occasionally I may slack off.
#23 is my rule too.
Vance
hi peter
just popped over because of your thread in the forum ,
your blog looks sound in firefox.
I like your list to ,you have a good sense
of humour
17& 20 made me lol.

you will do ok ,no problems , Ps .make some more videos

Hi Mick
The days of rugby union boys going to Widnes etc have gone for ever hopefully, thats one of the things that screwed us up. Are you from that area?
Hey Peter
Nice list, fatherhood is great. I have 3 grown, 2 with children so I have some really neat grandkids. They are lots of fun.
I watched your new video, I think it was pretty good. I still haven’t conquered that job yet. It is on my to do list for today. I guess I better get at it.
Anyway hope to see you around
Norm
Hi Peter,
I really like your list – at least half of which, could be a list for me also:
3 kids, VW camper vans, 2 lagers a night, drinking the wifes wine when she’s not looking etc..
But the one that does it for me is the last – #25 – lets hope we achieve it one day soon.
Cheers,
Andrew.
Hey Peter,
This is an awesome list, my friend. I know how much time and effort it takes to think of and write about 25 things about you, it’s definitely a marathon of a post.
I can completely relate to your #9. I am constantly trying to work more and little amounts of time, which then leads me to forgetting about things… which is not so good. I guess that’s where the planning and organization comes into play for us!
Take care,
Joe
Peter
I can certainly identify with 8 & 9!!
With Alex’s help and the support of our fellow MWA2.0 students we will get there eventually.
To our success
Tom
Hi Peter,
You are so well-rounded, how did I know? And I really like your idea about simplicty. And living a simple life, minimal bills, easy mortgage payments…journey light, travel lightly.
Take care, great post,
Karen
Peter,
Sounds like your kids have a great father. Not sure what you’re wife really thinks of stealing her red wine… lol
Anyways, kite surfing across the sea… a little much for me but go for it.
We only have one life.
Great list.
Rob
Hey Pete,
Great job, and thanks for the tag…!
I have been tagged my marcus passey also, and will be posting tomorrow.
Awesome list, you sound like me with the fosters
Take care,
Paul
