secure your life
2008-03-13 | Filed Under computer |
it’s way to irritating that when you are on some network or office computer or even in home you find some of your files are totally uncovered for any eye that can look at ,
i think when some one looks at your files then can then take a quick looks to your thoughts
- they way you organize files
- they way you set your OS design
- how you handle different types
- what software you are using
- what projects you are working at
for me once i get to my room and get the chair to my pc .. that is it i cut everything i have
with the life that happens upstairs [ living in the first floor ]
no friends or family can disturb my online time , [ Off course they always disturb it
]
BUT  i never let anyone interfere with my stuff .. sounds little crazy !!! yeah i know , but if i didn’t do that then i wouldn’t be me ..
i bet the many other users do the same daily and some even more than the way i’m handling with this matter
okay .. lets set things the right place ,,
first i’m Microsoft slave .. meaning i’ve used it all started with win 98 and now i’m on win xp i know it’s some how expensive to get it all but i gave linux a try for some time but i was far away from the changing point so i went back to windows
for the best security i was looking for , i used the first and easiest thing in windows ..
making multiple users profiles
Trying the hidden files Geeky thing
and yet i got to that really good software , too bad it’s not free
Hide My Folders 2.1
allows hiding files and folders from
 viewing, accessing and searching completely,
so only you know that those files or folders exist.
No matter how particular computer (over local network, from internet or directly) is accessed, those folders stay invisible and safe.
Once you hide files/folders,these Folders will not reveal its presence in your system, and the files will be hidden until you unhide them.
No one can find out if any of the files or folders is hidden.
it’s password-protected and you will be the only person to see and access your private info.
but in my home PC ,, i just have one User on it and i have it’s password so no one can access it
sneaky yeah , but works really good with me
good luck with your privacy
